Duration: 09/01/2025 - 08/31/2028
Partners: University of Agricultural and Environmental Education Vienna (Austria), Berufsbildungswerk (BBW) Mosbach-Heidelberg (Germany), Fundación Monte Mediterráneo (Spain), Lisov Muzeum (Slovakia), Wonderchapter (Portugal)
Learning with all the senses! The aim of the Erasmus+ KA2 project HortFoodInclusion, led by the University of Applied Sciences for Agricultural and Environmental Education in Vienna, is to enable teachers and trainers in vocational education and training to create sensory-based teaching/learning materials in the field of horticulture and food processing, thereby enabling them to better respond to the individual needs of their learners. The focus of the preparation of subject content is on the vocational training of people with learning difficulties and/or hearing impairments.
The work packages include:
- An analysis of the current situation in the partner countries
- Development of a didactic concept for sensory-based teaching materials and examples, which will be provided in a digital handbook
- Development of a competence profile and a curriculum for vocational trainers as a basis for the learning formats
- Design and implementation of a blended learning course
- Design and creation of a freely accessible online course (MOOC) for vocational trainers and all interested parties
By adapting vocational training materials to the needs of learners, their learning success and thus their long-term competitiveness on the labour market can be improved. In addition, an understanding of systemic thinking and tangible sustainable practices – particularly in the fields of horticulture and food processing – also enables a more sustainable lifestyle on a personal level.
