El animal que aparece en las fotos es una salamandra (Salamandra salamandra). La desafortunada salamandra fue cazada e insertada en la ramilla por un alcaudón.
En esta zona de España habitan dos especies de alcaudones, el alcaudón común (Lanius senator) y el alcaudón real (Lanius excubitor subsp. meridionalis), por lo que cualquiera de los dos pudo ser.
Los alcaudones son pájaros conocidos por sus hábitos de cazar insectos, reptiles y pequeños mamíferos y aves, y empalar sus cuerpos en tallos espinosos. Esto les ayuda a despedazar la carne en fragmentos más pequeños y les sirve de despensa para comer más tarde cuando tengan hambre.
A pesar de ser un pájaro relativamente pequeño, el alcaudón posee un pico fuerte y ganchudo como el de un ave rapaz, lo que refleja su naturaleza depredadora.

In unserer Gegend leben zwei Würgerarten: der Rotkopfwürger (Lanius senator) und der Raubwürger (Lanius excubitor subsp. meridionalis); es könnten beide gewesen sein.

In our region we have two kinds of shrikes: the Woodshat Strike (Lanius senator) and the Great Grey Shrike(Lanius excubitor subsp. meridionalis); could have been both.
The shrike is well known for its hunting of insects, reptiles, small mammals and birds. They impale their prey on branches or thorns. This helps to strip the meat in small pieces and also is a kind of pantry for later when they get hungry.
Although the shrikes are quite small birds, they have a strong and curved beak just like birds of prey do; this shows their character as predators.
