The second in-person meeting of the OpenPAS project (Assessment of
Grassland Conservation through Open Science, Sensors and Machine Learning) took
place on March 26–27 at the delegation of the Spanish National Research Council
(CSIC) in Zaragoza, Spain. The meeting was hosted by one of the project
partners, the Pyrenean Institute of Ecology.
During the meeting, each partner presented their institution, working
environment, main research areas, and their role within the project, fostering
a better understanding of the consortium.
The team also consolidated results from Activities 1.2 (indicator
extraction tool development) and 1.3 (machine learning model development), and
made further progress on Activity 1.4, which focuses on designing the field
protocol for use in the pilot areas.
The Fundación Monte Mediterráneo was represented by its manager, Kent
Ruiz.
