Students of agricultural engineering as well as of biology and geography can make good use of the foundation’s invitations to engage in month long research projects on the Dehesa. They have the opportunity to see how such an operation works with regard to implementing ecological principles, raising free range livestock, planting crops for feeding livestock and managing forests.
Often the participants fall in love with the landscapes and the animals and receive grants and monies from the foundation to help them continue their studies and research towards a Masters degree or even a Doctorate in a field of study related to the ranch and its operation.
The research team associated with the foundation works in conjunction with partners on various and sundry themes and projects which reflect the day-to-day concerns of running such an operation. The results of the research and studies are designed to have practical applications which can be repeated at similar locations. Such applications deal primarily with sustainability.

"Auswirkung der ökologischen Weidewirtschaft auf die Vegetation der Dehesa. Erhaltung der Diversität und der Produktivität eines marginalen Standortes."

This thesis concentrates on investigating the impact of management measures on vegetation.
2) Researchers at "Centro de Biologia Ambiental/Faculdade de Ciências de Lisboa".
"Mammals and roads interactions: from shifts in behavior to genetic structures" , supported by "Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia de Portugal" (PTDC/BIA-BIC/110097/2009) and with the participation of "Estación Biológica de Doñana" (CSIC).
