Last weekend, Caminos
Trashumantes held the Summer Cinema 2025 in Salamón, held the Summer Cinema
2025 in Salamón, an audiovisual event focused on transhumance. We were
fortunate to give voice to this ancient herding technique from the perspective
of archaeology, ecology, and anthropology, among others. Once the
films/documentaries had finished, we shared a toast with the neighbors of
Salamón during a small aperitif and discussion to exchange impressions and
experiences about the village’s transhumant history and its surroundings.
Without a doubt, these
have been special and very beautiful days, which we hope to repeat on other
occasions.
However, we cannot fail
to mention the sadness caused by the situation affecting the surrounding areas
these days. Salamón, like the other villages in the region, has been engulfed
in smoke and ashes throughout the entire weekend.
From Fundación Monte
Mediterráneo we want to send our support to all those affected by the numerous
fires that have occurred in recent days. We will continue working to defend our
forests and territories and promote extensive grazing and transhumance as a
preventative measure.
