In Salamón, everybody participated in an
inclusive weekend. The activities were very varied: wool workshop, concert,
summer cinema, visit to the Eco Museum of the wool, market with ice cream, biscuits,
cheese stands, etc.
Nevertheless, the activity that undoubtedly
stood out the most was the barrier-free herd accompaniment, held on Saturday
12th, where the Club de Montaña Pandetrave (Pandetrave Mountain Club) coordinated
the participation of a group of people with functional diversity (using
all-terrain wheelchairs known as Joëlette and directional bars for people with
reduced or no vision), alongside the event organizers (the Caminos Trashumantes
team and the Junta Vecinal de Salamón [a sort of Village Council]).
Together, they took care of every last detail to ensure that the outcome was an
enjoyable and unique experience, with participants showing joy and endless
smiles. When they left on the bus, they were able to relax in their seats and,
according to comments from those who had travelled with them, they were
reminiscing about how much they had enjoyed the transhumant experience.
As for the culinary side, not a single day went
by without the exquisite lamb prepared by Leal, providing the perfect finale to
what had been an ideal event.
Thank you, once again, Salamón, for being the
perfect setting for helding any event!
