In the heart of the Dehesa of Huelva, we investigate how grazing transforms the vegetation and the quality of the pasture

What happens when the flock doesn't enter the fences intended for grazing? To discover it, we compare plots with livestock exclusion with nearby areas located only 2 metres apart from the ones without exclusion.

We use sampling plots to estimate species cover.

A sampling plot is a bounded area, usually with a squared or rectangular area, where you collect data on flora and other soil constituents.

Some of the plants are collected, labelled and kept cold for subsequent laboratory analysis.

Every sample gives us a clue which helps us to understand better the delicate balance between grazing and biodiversity.
