our flock in BioNNOMÍA!
This is a key moment before our flock of sheep
begin their journey to the mountain passes.
The shearing is essential for animal welfare
during the warmest months. A sheared sheep is more agile, lighter and is better
prepared for transhumance, which implies that it reduces risks and improves its
hygiene.
But, also, this process gives us a valuable
resource: wool. In BioNNOMÍA, we are fostering the circular bioeconomy
revaluing this natural and renewable fibre. By harnessing the wool, we reduce
waste, we foster economic development in the countryside, and we promote a more
sustainable consumption.
