On Wednesday, 21st May, we lived a unique day in the
Dehesa San Francisco (Santa Olalla del Cala, Huelva), where the project
BioNNOMÍA organized a visit with journalists, teachers, researchers and
students linked to organic production.
Under the theme #ConoceLaTrashumancia
(#LearnAboutTranshumance), participants had the opportunity to see firsthand
how extensive and transhumant organic livestock farming helps preserve
high-value ecosystems such as the dehesa.
Throughout the visit, the importance of
ecological livestock management in the dehesa was highlighted, emphasizing its
benefits for biodiversity, soil health, and the landscape.
An enriching experience that shows how the
bioeconomy and traditional sustainable practices can be key to the future of
rural areas.
