The Grupo Operativo OVINNOVA launches a call to participate in the transhumance 2021 – sheep farmers, shepherds and those who would like to learn to be shepherds

In 2020, the Grupo Operativo Ovinnova could coordinate the transhumance of about 7.200 sheep from 20 farms in the provinces of Córdoba, Badajoz, Cáceres y Huelva. They moved from the dehesas in Andalusia and Extremadura to the mountain pastures of León and Palencia.

Thanks also to the former experience of the partners, protocols for the logistic challenges could be generated (transport, dogs, vet service, pasture agreements, etc.) so that the procedure for 2021 is established.

For 2021 our call for sheep farmers, shepherds and those who would like to learn to be shepherds

Transhumance and other activities realized by GO OVINNOVA aim to improve the competitivity of transhumance by designing a model that synthesizes service, competitivity and improvement of biodiversity.
